We’ll soon be making an offer to purchase the office/warehouse/community complex at 298 Northampton Street. We call it The ReSOURCE. Your contributions make all the difference as we accumulate funds for a down payment. Please help any way you can! The majority of funds we’ve raised so far support operational expenses. We’re currently raising funds via private donations primarily for capital investments such as vehicles, equipment, and ultimately to purchase The ReSource—a building we currently rent. Your contribution helps us acquire the necessary equipment to efficiently work in the City and deliver affordable services to our clients.
Our Vision for The ReSOURCE
The ReSOURCE will be a hub for environmental consciousness in Buffalo and Western New York. It will be a model of environmental and community stewardship—containing a community tool lending library, workshops for DIY home repairs, energy efficiency, property maintenance, recycling, composting, alternative fuels (solar, wind, water, bio), access to ideas and instruction. The ReSOURCE will be a place people come to for support in creating a sustainable home and a thriving neighborhood.
We care about the neighborhoods in which we work. We want to make them safe places where people want to live. This means we will introduce neighbors to a network of local resources such as nonprofits, block clubs or government agencies who are also interested in improving quality of life. And, where there might be a void, we’ll assist in creating new grassroots organizations to meet peoples’ needs.
The money we need to sustain our mission comes from:
- Revenue from deconstruction contracts for private owners and governments
- Revenue from the sale of harvested, salvaged and donated building materials.
- Grants from private individuals and organizations
- Grants from governments
- Revenue from other community-based business ventures (future)
- Donations from supporters like you
Any size donation is a great help to us. If you can’t help us as a volunteer, perhaps donating some money would be a good way for you to support our efforts.
