Just About Everything! At the ReSource, we sell just about everything and anything we can get our hands on. To be more specific, we acquire materials from our green demolition contracts, salvaging from buildings being demolished, and donations from businesses, contractors and homeowners. This means we get all kinds of material, in varying condition, of all ages, some brand new, some very old. We concentrate on building materials but also get housewares, appliances and other widely varying items. We occasionally get items we have absolutely no idea what they are or what they’re used for. These are fun to sell and usually fun for the right customer to buy. ![]() Our PricesOn average, we charge half the price for building materials compared to an equivalent new item. Of course, for many items there is no present-day equivalent. “Half the price on average” means our prices will range from 35% to 65% of new items. Some items have higher values, such as genuine antique door and window hardware, antique furniture and antique doors and windows. We price these closer to the “antique store” market, but you’ll find our prices for most items are lower than you’ll find anywhere but at auctions and yard sales. Some items will have lower prices; if we get a large quantity of some item, the price will usually go down. Because we’re a discount store, we have a policy of no haggling, no special deals. In fact, negotiating only increases the price! ![]() Can we predict what’s coming in to the store? The mix of items in our store changes every day. We’re bringing in new materials constantly, and our stock tends to sell rapidly. Since we can’t pick up the phone and order new stuff like mainstream retailers, we can’t predict what will be available. We work hard every day to increase the amount, quality and diversity of our stock. We believe we’ve made real progress in our first two years of operation and expect to continue to get better as we go along. ![]() Can We Look For or Hold an Item For You?We can look for an item in our store, but we’re a “cash and carry” business and don’t hold items, so there’s no guarantee an item will be in the store after an inquiry. We don’t maintain a physical inventory, either on paper or in a computer. But we’re usually able to tell you when you call whether we have what you’re looking for. Having no inventory system and a no-hold policy also means we’re unable at this time to maintain wish lists or call people when something comes in. ![]() So How Do You Find Anything? We spend a great deal of time and effort organizing the store so that when, for example, you’re looking for a five-panel door, it will be found with all the other five-panel doors. We organize and run the store so it’s self-serve, though we will of course help you find what you’re looking for if needed. ![]() Can We Refer You to Another Supplier?Yes, we can, in fact we do it many times every day. If we don’t have the item you’re looking for, we can refer you to another store or individual who can often locate or sell you the item, or at least help you in your search. We can help connect you to the network of reuse stores, collectors, antique dealers and other folks who have all kinds of materials available. Photos of Items and MaterialsHere are some pictures of items and materials we’ve had in the store in the past. We can’t guarantee availability of any item pictured, but this should give you a good example of the kinds of material we have sold. Here’s our list of acceptable donations, which also gives you an idea of what may be available. ![]() What We Usually HaveHere’s a list, not comprehensive, of materials we often have available: BUILDING MATERIALSLUMBER
