Salad Smorgasbord – THIS Saturday!

This Saturday we will be working in the community gardens AND reaping the benefits!

LET US CELEBRATE LETTUCE and all the other foods that grow in the soil!

Join us for a Garden Workday
with a salad potluck buffet–bring your work gloves, a sunhat and a bowl of salad! Lettuce Optional.

At noon, we’ll wash our hands, sit down to a buffet and bury our face in a bowl.

You can also just come for lunch as long as you bring a bowl to share.
(potato salad, macaroni salad, 3bean salad, beet salad, chard salad, egg salad, taco salad, corn salad, tomato salad, waldorf–the possibilities are endless.)

THERE IS ALSO GOING TO BE A SEEDLING SWAP TOO–for the warm weather crops like tomatoes and peppers and others.

ReUse Cookie Exchange

cooookies

Bring one dozen; leave with 5 dozen!

Here’s your opportunity to give-get-give for the season:

ReUse those old cookie tins, aluminum pie trays or even your Wegman’s salad/sub take away trays by filling them with holiday goodies!

Bring a dozen or so homemade goodies (cookies, candies, bit size snacks) and take home a bigger assortment to give to your friends, co-workers, family and strangers too. We’ll make some candies and cookies together and enjoy each other’s company. Feel free to bring a bottle of wine or cider.

Friday, December 18th from 5-8pm @ 158 Eaton St.

Other things to share: tissue paper, metallic markers, stickers or holiday themed stamps so that we can decorate the cookie containers.kids cookies

If you bring your recipe card we’ll consolidate them all for distribution.

And of course, bring the kids!

Hope to see you there, and happy holidays!!

Handmade Holidays Craft #3: Gifts in a Jar

jar giftsJoin us for our third and final homemade holiday gift workshop. On Wednesday, December 16th, we will be making gifts in a jar. We have tons of old mason jars here and we’d like to reuse them as soon as possible. What better (and more delicious) way than to fill them with goodies from the kitchen and include an easy and fun recipe???! To me, the holidays are all about baking and eating!

This workshop will take place from 4-5 pm at 158 Eaton St. A $5 fee will cover the supplies needed for these cute homemade gifts. Make sure you don’t miss our last gift workshop!
